28 foot Mako boat with experienced guide

Transport in float plane from Gold River (or boat if you prefer)

Use of foul weather gear

2 nights/3 days  $1,450 per person
3 nights/4 days  $1,999 per person
4 nights/5 days  $2,550 per person

We plan days around best fishing opportunities, but we schedule in other adventures as well.
You won't be just fishing all day, every day. Your group of six will be fishing and touring together,
so this format is a great family or corporate retreat.

Your group will have exclusive use of a waterfront chalet.
Each of the three separate bedrooms has two queen beds and ensuite.
There is a dining area, deck and fantastic view.

We include the round trip float plane flight from Gold River  Air Nootka  or for those of you who prefer not to fly,
we can transport by boat instead.  The flight from Gold River is about 15 minutes, or by boat the trip is 40 to 60 minutes depending on conditions.
For those of you traveling by plane to Vancouver Island, shuttles from Comox airport through beautiful Strathcona Park may be arranged.  Strathcona Park

Here are some of the activities we like to include in addition to salmon fishing in the calm waters of Nootka:

Visit to Yuquot or Friendly Cove, the spot where Captain Cook first landed in BC.
There are miles of beautiful polished rock beaches and SO many historic sites here.

Weather permitting it's fun to jig for bottom fish. The group spreads out in the boat so many rods may be jigging at the same time.

There are rock drawings and native points of interest throughout Nootka we will point out.

We will look for wildlife viewing opportunities. We are likely to see black bears, sea otters and whales.

Visit Espranza mission   Esperanza

Set prawn and crab traps and if successful we'll cook them on the boat or that evening.

Conditions permitting, we'll pick up oysters and clams to cook that night.

Remote west coast beach picnic and beach combing.

Float plane trip to the natural hot springs at Hot Springs Cove (additional charges for the float plane for this excursion).

The Meal plan:

Your chalet is stocked with breakfast cereal, fruit, and fresh daily baking, for a quick serve yourself meal before fishing in the morning. Your group is also welcome to return to the lodge for hot breakfast (no additional charges) in our cafe during breakfast hours.

Lunches will be packed for the boat so you're not committed to return to the lodge just for meals when you're having fun.

The evening meal we will have prepared and ready at your chalet. You may finish it on the barbecue at your leisure for privacy, or our staff will prepare. The menu plan may be adjusted to your taste, but typically will include salmon, ling cod or halibut, beef rib eye or fillet steak, barbecued chicken, and freshly made desserts.  Staff will visit your chalet frequently to remove dishes, bring dessert, and assist if requested. You may also choose to dine in the cafe instead - but the view from the private chalet dining room is the best.

What you should pack: (25lb of luggage per person on float plane):
Toiletries (including shampoo, sunscreen, insect repellent and prescriptions)
Clothing for a range of temperatures from cold and wet to hot and sunny.
A day pack or beach bag is a good idea for the boat and beach excursions.

We will have rain gear, boots, and beach towels for your use here, so no need to pack those.

We're looking forward to having you here in beautiful Nootka.
